CHCA Family,

As many of you know, Mobile will be experiencing a full Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21 from approximately 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. We are preparing for our students to have an opportunity to experience the Eclipse while also ensuring that our students are safe from any harm during this event. Below are the plans for our different grade levels. Students who are allowed to view the Eclipse outside of the building will be required to return a waiver signed by their parents or guardians. If you as a family have plans to experience the Eclipse please make sure that your campus administrator is notified in writing.

K-5 – 5th grades : Will view the Eclipse on a Live stream inside

6th – 8th grades: Will be building Eclipse View Boxes and will be going outside

9th – 12th grades: Will be using glasses purchased by the school to view. We will go outside in groups of approximately 50 students.

No other outside activities (Physical Education, playground time, outside classes) will be allowed from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm on Monday, August 21, 2017. Students will be instructed not to look at the sun during outside class changes.
