    Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives... one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.

    Robotics

B.E.S.T. Robotics is a yearly competition where schools can have one team which designs and builds a radio-controlled machine to accomplish defined tasks in a game-type format. Six weeks before the competition, the teams from around the area gather for Kick Off Day where they receive identical kits of equipment and raw materials from which to build their machines, and a detailed set of game rules. Students who do not want to build the robot can handle publicity, design the team logo, design T-shirts, or perform other jobs. There is so much to do and only 6 weeks to do it.

    Scholars Bowl

The Scholars Bowl is an academic competition involving students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. The students compete four times annually against students from other middle schools throughout the county.

    Science Olympiad

Since 2000, students in grades 6-8 at CHCA have been actively involved in Science Olympiad at the regional, state, and national levels. Science Olympiad tournaments are academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of 23 team events. The local team of 15 students participates in all events to attempt to qualify for the next level of competition. The strength of this program comes from our students' awareness that their strength and skills are God-given. We are blessed to have parents who volunteer untold hours of their time to coach the twenty-three competitive events.

    Spelling Bee
Students in 1st through 8th grades compete in classroom spelling bees. The classroom winners in 4th through 8th grade compete in a school-wide competition in January. The winner represents our school in the Mobile County Spelling Bee and the AISA state-wide competition.
